What is club volleyball?
Club volleyball provides a platform for girls ages 9-18 to refine their skills and compete at various levels. RVA provide top-notch coaching that not only enhances players' skills but also nurtures their individual talents.
When does the season and practice start
The season kicks off with tryouts in late July or Early August with practices starting in the first week of December and concludes in late April or early May. Teams that decide to attend AAU National tournament will finish their season in early July.
Can a multi sport athlete play for RVA?
RVA is ideal for multi-sport athletes, especially younger players. Many RVA athletes participate in multiple sports.
JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION (JVA)
The Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) has established itself as a leading force in youth club volleyball, showcasing its ability to provide superior player development programs. JVA clubs prioritize the holistic growth of young athletes, focusing not only on skill acquisition but also on character development and personal growth. Through well-structured training sessions, expert coaching, and comprehensive player evaluation processes, JVA clubs ensure that each player receives individualized attention and ample opportunities to enhance their skills. By placing a strong emphasis on player development, JVA clubs foster an environment that empowers young athletes to reach their full potential, both on and off the court.
Age Definitions for the 2024-25 Season
The JVA follows the basic Age Definitions set by USA Volleyball for the 2024-25 season. The date cutoff is July 1, and age definitions can be viewed below.

18 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2006
17 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2007
16 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008
15 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009
14 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010
13 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011
12 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2012
11 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2013
10 and Under – Players who were born on or after July 1, 2014
