Tryouts

Roots holds age based summer tryouts for 10U to 18U, typically in late July or early August. Sessions run at the MidAmerican RecPlex in West Des Moines, with athletes grouped by birth year and evaluated on skills, athleticism, attitude, and potential. Some ages run a single day format, others use two days, and families receive pre event details by email after registering. Key notes, try out for your actual age group, arrive early to check in, and be ready for ball control, serving, attacking, defence, and game play drills.
